Our Mission
Addis Ababa Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus exists to glorify God by making disciples of Jesus Christ through worship, teaching, fellowship, and service in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Our History
Founded in Addis Ababa, AAECMY has been a spiritual home for believers from diverse backgrounds. We are part of the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus (EECMY), one of the largest Lutheran church bodies in Africa.
Our Beliefs
We hold to the foundational truths of the Christian faith as expressed in the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds. We are rooted in the Lutheran tradition, emphasizing salvation by grace through faith alone, the authority of Scripture, and the priesthood of all believers.
Our Community
We are a multicultural, multilingual congregation worshiping in English, Amharic, and Afaan Oromoo. Our doors are open to all who seek to know Christ and grow in their faith.
