Addis Ababa Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus was founded in 1892 by a small congregation of immigrants who gathered in a rented hall to pray, study Scripture, and serve their neighbors. That same spirit of hospitality and devotion shapes every aspect of who we are today.
We hold to the historic Christian faith — the authority of Scripture, the centrality of the gospel, the importance of the sacraments — while remaining warmly committed to welcoming people from all walks of life into a community of genuine belonging.
